Develekos: Michaloliakos’s henchman

A “hardcore” Golden-Dawner with strong presence in public nationalist gatherings of the party’s youth is the 26-year-old former personal driver and bodyguard of the party’s General Secretary Nikos Mihaloliakos

Sotiris Develekos seems to had gained the sympathy of General Secretary Nikos Mihaloliakos, who attempted to have him appointed as his personal driver and bodyguard. However, Mr Mihaloliakos’s plans were interrupted when the police refused to issue a gun license for Mr. Develekis, since “he did not meet the necessary criteria”, as police officers say with a hint of insinuation.

Sotiris Develekos was led to the Public Prosecutor of Piraeus yesterday, after police surveys in his house and his car where an air-gun, two big firecrackers and a balisong (butterfly knife) were discovered.

The Department of Security filed a case for him, after an anonymous report against him for carrying weapons. The same person had applied for a gun license from the Police, an application which was rejected on the 5^th of May 2013.
